JASIAH DELIVERS GROUND SHAKING PERFORMANCE AT ST. ANDREW’S HALL

JASIAH performing in St. Andrew’s Hall

On Feb. 21, JASIAH touched down in Detroit at St. Andrew’s Hall and delivered a riotous performance of his hit songs. The basement of St. Andrew’s was filled with moshers and people ready to let loose to his music.

JASIAH comes from a family of music makers. Some might say it was his natural-born path to become a rapper. A fond memory that his family has is of him rapping when he was 8 years old. The Ohio native started creating music around 2013-2014. His music is classified as hip-hop and rap, while also blending in some elements from trap, metal, and alternative rock. He is currently signed to Atlantic Records and Atlantic Records Group along with Cardi B, Trippie Redd, and Gucci Man.

JASIAH creates his music from the heart, drawing inspiration from the experiences of others and his own, personal observations. You might have heard one of his songs BREAK SHIT while scrolling through Tik Tok in 2021. BREAK SHIT was a hit single from his album WAR, with samples from 2PAC, Outlawz, and Eazy-E. With his music being streamed by millions, JASIAH said, “I love my music being played around my culture. BREAK SHIT was a rebellion and I felt like I said enough for it.”

He wants his listeners to understand that his music is not autobiographical. The music produced on the rapper’s album is meant to share “The feelings and stories that other people do not have the opportunity to.” JASIAH mentioned that just because something hasn’t happened to you doesn’t mean that it can’t happen, referencing the political climate of the United States today.

The native Ohio rapper from Dayton plans to drop his next project on Mar. 14. JASIAH is excited to drop the album and “turn up with my friends.” Technically JASIAH mentioned he does not have any albums, they are considered projects. Eight projects are in JASIAH’S repertoire of music. His most popular song, on paper, is reported to be BREAK SHIT. BREAK SHIT is what got JASIAH his first platinum. Album 17 was certified triple platinum by the RIAA in Apr. 2023.

However, amongst the audience, JASIAH said that CRISIS was the most popular. He did not get the song cleared, so it did not stream on Apple Music until 8 months later. During those 8 months, JASIAH was not paid for CRISIS and he stated that “the song was going viral.”

The perks of being a rapper come with meeting other famous people. JASIAH has met Travis Barker, Denzel Curry, Lil Darkie, and his idol Earl Sweatshirt. He has also met John Feldman, the producer for 5SOS and Avril Lavigne. Being from Ohio, he mentioned that people barely know of the struggles in Ohio. JASIAH calls Ohio “The City of Gems” because it is a hidden gem that has produced artists and athletes such as John Legend, Trippie Red, and LeBron James. JASIAH’S songs can be found streaming on YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music.
